ICompetition overview

The 2026 Florida Figure Skating State Championships will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of U.S. Figure Skating, as set forth in the current rulebook, and/or current Compete USA handbook as well as any pertinent updates that have been posted on the U.S. Figure Skating website.

This competition is open to all eligible, restricted, reinstated or readmitted persons as defined by the Eligibility Rules.

Skaters must be a currently registered member of a U.S. Figure Skating member club, Learn to Skate USA® member, a collegiate club or who is an individual member in accordance with the current rulebook. For non-U.S. citizens, please refer to the rulebook for more information.

IIEligibility

Eligibility: All skaters registering for free skating events must have a Florida affiliation in one or more of the following ways: reside in the State of Florida, attend school in Florida, be a member of a Florida Figure Skating Club or have their primary training location in Florida. All participants will be expected to abide by the Code of Ethics (GR 1.01) and the Code of Conduct (GR 1.02), as set forth in the current U.S. Figure Skating Rulebook.

The Florida Figure Skating State Championships is open to all Compete USA skaters regardless of past competition entry. Competitors registering for Excel Events must have participated in at least 2 other Florida Competitions. Championship Track must have participated in at least 3 Florida Competitions. All Showcase, TOI and Performance Groups are eligible to participate in the FIC Event.

Singles: Excel and Championship Track Events

• Skaters must meet at least the minimum singles test requirements for the event's level. A skater's singles test level may be higher than the minimum requirement.
  • Skate Up: skaters may skate up one level higher than their minimum test requirement allows.
• Skaters may not register for an event level lower than allowed by their competitive floor. An athlete's competitive floor is set by one of the following scenarios:
  • If an athlete has a paid EMS series application for the NQS series, the event level registered for in the most recent NQS will become the lowest level they may compete at in any U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned event.
  • If an athlete has a paid EMS series application for the Excel Series, the event level registered for in the most recent Excel series will become the lowest level they may compete in any Excel event. For Championship Track and Specialty events the skater will be permitted to register at one level lower than the 'floor' set by their excel series entry.
  • If an athlete has never had a paid EMS series application in the NQS or Excel series, the athlete may select their level based on their goals and technical skills as long as the minimum test requirements are met.
• Skaters are not permitted to enter an Excel free skate and a Championship Track free skate event at the same competition (example: Juvenile Girls Free Skate and Juvenile Girls Excel

Free Skate). However, they are permitted to enter an Excel and a Championship Track event of different types such as a short program (if stand-alone event option), specialty or showcase events (example: Intermediate Women Short Program and Intermediate Women Excel Free Skate).

All other singles and partner events (such as Adults, Pairs, Ice Dance)

• Skaters must meet the minimum test requirements for the events level but not exceed the maximum permissible test requirement.

On the program requirements page linked above, competitions that fall within the date range beside the program requirements must use those requirements.

•  The Florida Showcase Spectacular will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026. It will be offered with curtains, spotlights and darkened skating surface. Judging panels will meet the current requirements. Skaters registering to complete in the Florida Showcase Spectacular ONLY are not required to meet the competition requirements.

Snowplow sam - basic 1- 6 elements

•  To be skated on 1/3 ice - Skaters will perform the elements as instructed by the Event Referee for Snowplow Sam, Basic 1 and Basic 2
•  To be skated on ½ ice - Basic 3 - Basic 6 In simple program form, using a limited number of connecting steps, the skating order of the required elements is optional No music.

Compliance

Coaches

To be an eligible coach at a nonqualifying competition, coaches must meet the applicable compliance requirements and verified by U.S. Figure Skating. Coach compliance falls into two categories, Coach Compliance (includes choreographers) and Learn to Skate USA® Instructor Compliance. Details regarding compliance requirements can be found in Members Only, click the blue 'COACH' button. All compliance requirements must be met at the time of check-in to access the competition, no exceptions.

Coaches of foreign athletes: If you are a coach of a foreign athlete only, you are not subject to U.S. Figure Skating coach compliance and will only be asked to provide a letter of good standing for the federation your athlete represents.

IIIRegistration information

REGISTRATION PROCESS INSTRUCTIONS: 2026 Florida Figure Skating State Championships and Florida Showcase Spectacular entries must be made online through entryeeze.com. Registration is processed with a credit card only.

1. Check with your coach for event selection and skating level.
2. Go to www.entryeeze.com
3. Click on the American Flag
4. Search By State and choose Florida
5. Select the 2026 Florida Figure Skating Championships.
6. Select 'Skaters and Parents'
7. Enter your Learn to Skate USA Number or USFS Number: ___If you do not have your number, check with your coach or contact the skating director at your facility. All competitors must be current members of Learn to Skate USA or Full USFS Members. Membership

is renewed annually on July 1st.

Troubleshooting: If you cannot select a level to compete in, it may be because you did NOT fill out the current skating level correctly on your profile page. A current skating level is the level of the last test signed by your coach in your Learn to Skate USA Skills Book or last USFS Test passed and registered with USFS. Please contact YOUR COACH if you have questions about the registration process. The Florida Interclub Council reserves the right to close registration at any time if event capacity is met.

Test credit

Test credit will be available at this competition for qualifying events . If interested, you will find 'test credit' as an event during the registration process. Choose the event (as you would with a single event) and the fee will be added to your shopping cart. Skaters that meet the requirements for test credit may request their test credit forms at the registration desk. This MUST be requested onsite and will not be available after the start of your IJS Test Level Event. Take a picture of all documents for safe keeping. A fee of $30 will be charged. Any athlete seeking IJS Test Credit is responsible for all steps outlined in the 'For Athletes' section of the IJS Protocol for Test Credit document. This includes submitting your Test Credit Packet and coach statement to your club for official processing within the permissible timeline.

Music submission/upload

EntryEeze MUSIC UPLOAD: Competitors participating in events with music are required to upload their music to EntryEeze no later than September 26, 2026 @ 11:59pm . After this date, skaters will be locked out of this feature and subject to a $50 late fee . The late fee will automatically be added to each skater's cart who doesn't meet this requirement by the deadline. Late fees will not be removed under any circumstances and must be paid prior to receiving the skater credential onsite.

DEADLINE: September 26, 2026 @ 11:59pm

Competitors must also have available a backup copy of their competition music on a cell phone, and it must be immediately available rink side whenever the skater competes. If the phone does not have the standard round headset connector, an appropriate adapter, such as an Apple Lightning connector or Samsung USB-C adapter is required to be attached. The phone should be presented to the music person with the file ready to play, phone in airplane mode and volume turned to maximum. The LOC, competition officials, and volunteers exercise reasonable care when handling phones. However, they are not responsible for damage to or loss of any device. The LOC is not responsible for devices not picked up by the end of the competition. Those will be destroyed.

Planned program content (ppc) submission/upload - for IJS events only

EntryEeze PLANNED PROGRAM CONTENT (PPC) - Competitors participating in IJS events are required to submit PPC in EntryEeze no later than September 26, 2026 @ 11:59pm . After this date, skaters will be locked out of this feature in EntryEeze and subject to a $50 late fee . The late fee will automatically be added to each skater's cart who doesn't meet this requirement by the deadline. Late fees will not be removed under any circumstances and must be paid prior to receiving the skater credential onsite.

Refund policy

No refunds will be granted under any circumstances after the registration deadline closes, including medical, unless the competition or an event is canceled. Online processing fees are non-refundable. Payment of any fees will be required before the skater is allowed to participate in practice ice or events. No refunds will be given if the schedule is modified. Please plan travel accordingly. Events may be held anytime during the dates of the competition. Any registration modifications or changes after the competition deadline will be subject to a $75 change fee and we cannot guarantee changes will be possible once capacity is reached.

Liability

U.S. Figure Skating, Learn to Skate USA®, Florida Interclub Council, First Coast FSC and Community First Igloo accept no responsibility for injury or damage sustained by any participant in this competition. This is in accordance with Rule 1600 of the official U.S. Figure Skating Rulebook.

Facilities

Facility Name: Community First Igloo

Facility Address: 3605 Phillips Hwy, Jacksonville, FL 32207

Locker rooms and changing areas will not be available in this competition. All athletes are expected to arrive at the arena ready (costumes, hair, make-up etc.). Athletes will be provided with an area to put skates on but changing will not be permitted in these spaces.

U.S. Figure Skating Travel Policy

All travel must strictly adhere to Two-Deep Leadership requirements. An Adult Participant cannot transport a Minor Athlete one-on-one and Two-Deep Leadership requirements must be always adhered to during In-Program travel, by transporting at least two minors who are at least 8 years of age or a second Adult Participant. An Adult Participant cannot share a hotel room or other sleeping arrangement with a Minor Athlete(s). Full details of the SkateSafe® Travel Policy and any exceptions can be found starting on page 12 of the SkateSafe® Handbook.

www.fl_interclub.org for all announcements and detailed information prior to the start of the Championships. There will be an announcement board at Registration with all additional information.

Schedule

Competitors may be scheduled on any day or time during the announced dates of the competition. The competition and practice ice schedule will be available after the close of entries. All participants will be notified via email once available. The Florida Showcase Spectacular will be scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026. A schedule will be posted on www.entryeeze.com after registration has closed. Participants will be notified when the schedule has been posted.

Rink Description : The Community First Igloo has 2 ice surfaces each 85' x200' NHL regulation size. The snack shop and pro shop will be open during the competition.

Practice Ice

Practice ice registration will be announced on www.entryeeze.com after the close of entries and will be available for purchase on www.entryeeze.com website. Each skater will be eligible to purchase one (1) practice ice sessions per event entered. Additional practice ice may become available after the initial practice ice registration and after the schedule is posted. Practice Ice will be $ 20.00 per 20-minute practice session at the time of entry, $25 during Open Practice Ice Sales and $30 at the rink during the Championships.

Do not call the Community First Igloo for practice ice sessions during the dates of the competition.

Onsite check-in

Check-in will open on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 12pm unless the competition schedule is adjusted to start earlier.

If you are participating in a role requiring compliance, please be sure to download or print your compliance card to verify your compliance status on-site, if requested. If you believe your compliance card does not accurately reflect your compliance status, please contact skatesafe@usfigureskating.org at least 2 business days prior to the competition for assistance.

Awards

1. Medals will be awarded to the first, second, third and fourth place finishers in each event.
2. Medals will be awarded for 5th & 6th Place in all Compete USA Free Skating Events (Program with Music).
3. Award ceremonies will be conducted as scheduled. Check the Official Bulletin Board for more information.

Volunteer info

FIC will be looking for some volunteers from the local area. If you know students in need of service hours for school, please have them reach out to Maureen Dalton, FIC President, to complete all forms.

Photo/video

Live and on-demand streaming, and sales and distribution of U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned and approved events, programs, and activities that include the playback of music is strictly prohibited. This prohibition does not apply to the distribution of footage that does not include music. Questions about this can be directed to music@usfigureskating.org.

All FIC video will be used only by the technical panel for element review. Official video details will be posted on the EntryEeze website closer to the event.
