RinkDay legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026
RinkDay is operated by Gobez LLC ("Gobez", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when coaches, parents, guardians, and invited family members use RinkDay websites, applications, and related services.
1. Who RinkDay Is For
RinkDay helps independent figure skating coaches manage scheduling, family communication, skater rosters, balances, reminders, and related rink-day operations. It also provides public competition information and optional one-time result alerts. The service is designed for adults, including coaches, parents or legal guardians invited by a coach, and adults following public competition results. It is not intended for children to create accounts or submit information directly.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use RinkDay, we may collect:
- Account information: name, email address, password credentials, sign-in provider details, role, and account settings.
- Contact and messaging details: an email address or mobile phone number you provide, phone verification status, your preferred contact channel, competition result-alert requests and consent or confirmation records, and records of service messages we send to you.
- Coach profile and business information: coaching profile details, rink locations, scheduling preferences, payment instructions, and notification settings.
- Family and skater information: guardian names, invited family members, skater names, roster relationships, lesson history, schedule details, attendance context, and coach-entered notes visible through the service.
- Messages and communications: direct messages, group announcements, reminder content, replies, support messages, and related metadata.
- Balance and payment records: charges, credits, recorded payments, payment method labels, payment instructions, outstanding balances, and reminder status. RinkDay may track payment records even when payment happens outside RinkDay, such as cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, club payroll, or another coach-selected method.
- Selected contact details: when a device contact picker is used, RinkDay uses only the contact you choose to prefill a guardian or family record. We do not upload your full address book.
- Usage, device, and diagnostic data: app version, browser or device type, operating system, approximate region, pages or screens viewed, feature events, crash/error reports, performance data, IP address, and security logs.
- Support and feedback: information you send when you contact us, report a problem, request access, or participate in pilot feedback.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide, secure, operate, and improve RinkDay.
- Create accounts, authenticate users, and route coaches and families to the correct workspace.
- Manage lessons, rosters, schedules, messages, balances, reminders, and family access.
- Send service messages, account notices, invitation links, reminders, one-time competition result alerts, support responses, and operational updates by email and, where you have opted in, by text message.
- Send sign-in and password reset links by email only.
- Verify a phone number you add to your account.
- Understand product usage, diagnose errors, protect against abuse, and make the service easier to use.
- Comply with legal, security, accounting, and operational obligations.
4. Children And Skater Information
RinkDay may contain information about minor skaters because coaches and guardians use the service to manage lessons, schedules, balances, and communication. Coaches are responsible for having appropriate authority or consent before adding skater or guardian information to RinkDay. Parents and legal guardians should use RinkDay only through their own accounts or links provided for them.
RinkDay is not directed to children under 13, and children should not create accounts or send personal information to us directly. If you believe a child has created an account or submitted information without appropriate parental or guardian authorization, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to operate RinkDay, with your direction, or as required by law. This may include:
- Within the service: coaches, invited parents or guardians, and authorized account members can see information appropriate to their role and relationship.
- Service providers: hosting, database, email, authentication, analytics, error monitoring, app distribution, customer support, and security vendors that help us run RinkDay.
- Legal and safety reasons: when we believe disclosure is required by law, needed to protect rights and safety, or necessary to investigate abuse or security issues.
- Business transfers: if Gobez LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections for user information.
Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging consent are treated separately and more restrictively than other information. See Text Messages And Mobile Information below.
6. Text Messages And Mobile Information
RinkDay uses phone numbers to verify accounts, to sign you in if you choose to sign in by phone, and, where you have opted in, to send service text messages such as invitation links, new-message alerts, lesson reminders, and balance reminders. We send texts only to numbers provided directly by the person opting in, provided by an account holder, or provided by a coach who confirms they have permission to contact that person.
On a public competition page, an adult may enter their own US or Canada mobile number and request transactional result alerts for that named competition. A whole-competition request sends one automated text when results begin posting. An event-specific request may cover up to five selected events or programs and sends no more than one automated text per selected item when that result posts. The exact maximum is shown beside the unchecked consent control before submission. These alerts do not require a RinkDay account or send an opt-in confirmation. We use the number for the requested alerts, consent evidence, abuse prevention, and opt-out enforcement; we do not reuse it for marketing.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party. We disclose mobile numbers only to the messaging providers that deliver messages on our behalf, and only for the purpose of delivering those messages.
Account-notification frequency varies with your account activity. A confirmed public email result-alert request sends one confirmation email and, after confirmation, at most one result email for that competition; the address is not added to a marketing list or attached to an account. A public SMS result-alert request sends one message for a whole-competition request, or up to five messages for an event-specific request—no more than one per selected item. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any RinkDay text to opt out, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not close your account or affect your access; where applicable, we will continue to send required service notices by email.
Some invitations are sent by a coach from their own phone using their device's messaging app. Those messages are sent by the coach rather than by RinkDay, are not covered by the opt-out above, and are subject to the coach's own mobile carrier terms.
7. Analytics, Diagnostics, And Cookies
We use privacy-conscious analytics and error monitoring to understand whether RinkDay is working, where users get stuck, and which features need improvement. We avoid intentionally sending message text, lesson notes, payment instructions, raw invite or reset tokens, passwords, emails, phone numbers, or free-form family content to analytics events.
Some builds may use masked session-replay or interaction diagnostics to find product issues. Sensitive screens and input fields are masked, disabled, or restricted where practical. The website and app may also use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and analytics.
For eligible United States website traffic, Google Analytics may provide a secondary, directional view of traffic sources, landing pages, and broad screens viewed in the signed-in web application. It is not loaded for traffic the service identifies as outside the United States or when location eligibility is unavailable. RinkDay does not send Google an account identifier or use Google Analytics as the source of truth for product behavior or business outcomes. Advertising storage, personalization, remarketing, enhanced conversions, and Google Signals are not enabled in this collection. We limit reported locations to public paths, reviewed campaign parameters, and fixed application screen categories, and do not intentionally send public-search text, alert destinations, contact details, tokens, private record identifiers, or free-form values.
8. Payments And Balance Records
RinkDay helps coaches track balances and record payments. Unless a separate payment processor is clearly enabled, RinkDay is not the merchant of record and does not process card payments for lesson fees. Coaches are responsible for the payment instructions they provide and for their own billing, tax, refund, and business obligations.
9. Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide RinkDay, support active accounts, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and preserve legitimate business records. If an account is closed or deleted, we will delete or de-identify information within a reasonable period unless we need to retain limited records for legal, security, billing, backup, or compliance reasons.
10. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted transport, access controls, environment separation, operational logging, and security review. No internet service is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Choices And Rights
You may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your information by contacting us. Some requests may require us to verify your identity or coordinate with the coach, parent, guardian, or account owner who controls the relevant workspace. We may decline or limit a request where allowed by law, including when information must be kept for security, legal, or operational reasons.
To start an account-deletion request outside the app, follow the steps on our account-deletion page.
12. Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as RinkDay changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate. Continued use of RinkDay after an updated policy becomes effective means the updated policy applies.
