ICompetition overview

The 2026 Texas Trophy competition will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of U.S. Figure Skating, as set forth in the current rulebook, as well as any pertinent updates that have been posted on the U.S. Figure Skating website.

This competition is open to all eligible, restricted, reinstated or readmitted persons as defined by the Eligibility Rules, and who are a currently registered member of a U.S. Figure Skating member club, a collegiate club or an individual member in accordance with the current rulebook. Please refer to the current rulebook for non-U.S. Citizens.

IIEligibility

Singles: Excel and Well-Balanced Events

Skaters must meet at least the minimum singles test requirements for the event's level. A skater's singles test level may be higher than the minimum requirement.

• Skate Up: skaters may skate up one level higher than their minimum test requirement allows.

Skaters may not register for an event level lower than allowed by their competitive floor. An athlete's competitive floor is set by one of the following scenarios:

• If an athlete has a paid EMS series application for the NQS series, the event level registered for in the most recent NQS will become the lowest level they may compete at in any U.S. Figure Skating sanctioned event.
• If an athlete has a paid EMS series application for the Excel Series, the event level registered for in the most recent Excel series will become the lowest level they may compete in any Excel event. For Well-Balanced and Specialty events the skater will be permitted to register at one level lower than the 'floor' set by their excel series entry.
• If an athlete has never had a paid EMS series application in the NQS or Excel series, the athlete may select their level based on their goals and technical skills as long as the minimum test requirements are met.

Skaters are not permitted to enter an Excel free skate and a Well-Balanced free skate event at the same competition (example: Juvenile Girls Free Skate and Juvenile Girls Excel Free Skate). However, they are permitted to enter an Excel and a Well-Balanced event of different types such as a short program (if stand-alone event option), specialty or showcase events (example: Intermediate Women Short Program and Intermediate Women Excel Free Skate). · For more details about establishing event levels, refer to the information sheet HERE or email

Skaters entering pre-juvenile and lower events will be divided as closely as possible by age should the number of entries warrant more than one group.

All other singles and partner events (such as Adults)

Skaters must meet the minimum test requirements for the events level, but not exceed the maximum permissible test requirement.

Showcase & Specialty events may be limited or cancelled due to time constraints as these events are secondary priority.

Mandatory Athletes

Athletes age 18+ as of the competition start date who will be competing on a team (i.e. synchro, dance, pairs, shadow dance, theatre, etc.) with at least one minor athlete must complete SafeSport™ training. *

Minor Athletes who turn 18 midseason are encouraged to seek parental consent to take the online SafeSport™ training early to avoid any disruptions in their ability to participate as the training is required upon turning 18. The athlete will not be SkateSafe® compliant until they have completed the training and their Members Only portal reflects completion. Please email skatesafe@usfigureskating.org for instructions or questions regarding parental consent.

U.S. Figure Skating Travel Policy

All travel must strictly adhere to Two-Deep Leadership requirements. An Adult Participant cannot transport a Minor Athlete one-onone and Two-Deep Leadership requirements must be adhered to at all times during In-Program travel, by transporting at least two minors or a second Adult Participant. An Adult Participant cannot share a hotel room or other sleeping arrangement with a Minor Athlete(s). Full details of the SkateSafe® Travel Policy and any exceptions can be found starting on page 12 of the SkateSafe® Handbook.

Important notice for all coaches

To be an eligible coach at a non-qualifying competition, coaches must meet the applicable compliance requirements and verified by U.S. Figure Skating. Coach compliance falls into three categories, Coach/Choreographer, Learn to Skate USA Instructor, or Foreign Coach/Choreographer. Details regarding compliance requirements can be found HERE. All compliance requirements must be met at the time of check-in to access the competition, no exceptions.

Coaches must be included within a skater's registration or updated through their EMS Skater Portal. All coaches declared at the time of registration will be included on the registration confirmation email. Note: There is no registration approval process within EMS as the data (membership and test level) is tied to the U.S. Figure Skating database. Non-compliant coaches will receive automated email reminders through the start of the competition.

Competition entry - EMS registration

Entries will be limited, so register early as LOC reserves the right to close entries early if max capacity is reached. Entries are accepted via EMS with credit card only. Each transaction is subject to a 3% credit card fee.

See event site at www.DallasFSC.org for more information. Entries must be paid with a successful credit card transaction to be considered valid and must be completed by August 29, 2026 11:59pm CT. Late entries can be considered for acceptance at the discretion of the competition committee only if accompanied by a $50 late fee.

Foreign skaters

Non-U.S. skaters intending to register for this competition must set up a non-member account prior to registering for the competition (click here for HOW TO). This can be done by choosing the 'Non-Member? Create Account' option on the Members Only login page.

Test credit

Skaters that meet the requirements for test credit may request preparation of a test credit form at registration. Delay in printing of forms may occur if not requested a few hours prior to skating your event. Forms must be picked up at the registration desk prior to the end of the competition. Submission of test credit form to USFSA is the responsibility of the skater upon return home in conjunction with their home club test chair. Cost for test credit form preparation is $25.

Music submission/upload

Competitors participating in events utilizing music are required to upload their music to EMS no later than September 17, 2026 11:59pm ET . After this date, skaters will be locked out of this feature and subject to a $35 late fee. The late fee will automatically be added to each skater's cart who doesn't meet this requirement by the deadline. Late fees will not be removed under any circumstances and must be paid prior to receiving the skater credential onsite. Any request to change music will incur a $35 per piece music change fee after upload deadline.

MUSIC UPLOAD DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 17, 2026, 11:59PM ET; LATE FEE $35

Competitors must also have available a backup copy of their competition music on either a CD or a USB drive, and it must be immediately available at rink side whenever the skater competes. Only one piece of music per device (CD / USB).

Planned Program Content (ppc)

Events judged with the International Judging System (IJS) require the submission of the Planned Program Content ( PPC ) form. Competitors participating in IJS events are required to submit their PPC in EMS no later than September 17, 2026 11:59pm ET . After this date, skaters will be locked out of this feature in EMS and subject to a $20 late fee. The late fee will automatically be added to each skater's cart who doesn't meet this requirement by the deadline. Late fees will not be removed under any circumstances and must be paid prior to receiving the skater credential onsite.

Refund policy

Entry fees will not be refunded after the deadline date, unless no competition exists or the event is canceled. There will be no refunds for medical withdrawals. The online processing fees are not refundable. Checks returned for non-sufficient funds and contested credit card charges will be issued a $35 fee. Payment of the fee will be required before the skater is allowed to participate in practice ice or events.

There will be a $35 fee for each change of event or level after the entry deadline date.

Full refunds, minus the online processing fee , are available if withdrawal is prior to the entry deadline.

Liability

U.S. Figure Skating, Dallas Figure Skating Club, and Children's Health StarCenter Plano accept no responsibility for injury or damage sustained by any participant in this competition. This is in accordance with Rule 1600 of the official U.S. Figure Skating Rulebook.

IVCompetition details

FACILITIES : Children's Health StartCenter Plano is located at 4020 West Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093. Both ice surfaces are 200' x 85' with rounded corners.

Locker rooms and changing areas

Locker rooms and changing areas will not be accessible during 2026 Texas Trophy. Skaters should be prepared to dress off-site and arrive/depart from the arena ready (costumes, hair, make-up, etc.) in competition attire. Athletes will be provided with an area to put skates on but changing will not be permitted in these areas.

Official notices

Notices will be posted online in EMS and on DallasFSC.org. It is the responsibility of each competitor, parent and coach to check frequently for any schedule changes and/or notices. Skaters are requested to arrive 45 minutes prior to the scheduled time of their event. A tentative schedule will be posted prior to the competition.

Schedule

Competitors may be scheduled on any day or time during the announced dates of the competition. The competition and practice ice schedule will be available after the close of entries. All participants will be notified via email once available.

Practice ice

Practice Ice will be divided by level and skaters will be able to select/purchase those sessions appropriate for their entered events. Practice ice credits may be pre-purchased in EMS online at the discounted price of $22 for each 20 (twenty) minute session per person. Pre-paid practice ice is non-refundable and may not be sold to other skaters. Practice ice can only be purchased through EMS online or in person at the competition registration/PI desk. After the schedule is released online sessions will be sold for $25 each session per person. During the event all remaining practices will be sold on-site for $25 each session per person. NO MUSIC WILL BE PLAYED ON PRACTICE ICE.

On-site registration desk

See the event site located at www.DallasFSC.org for registration desk open hours. Registration will be open from one hour before the first event and run through the last event of the day. The registration desk is located upstairs near top of ramp in the center of the rink concourse and will open 30 minutes before the first practice ice session. Please register promptly upon arrival. Please note that Registration will no longer accept any music . If the skater's music was not uploaded or the uploaded version is not correct, the skater will provide their CD or USB to the Music person after their name has been called to skate and before they get into their starting position, and then collect the music before exiting the ice. Electronic devices, such as phones, for playing music will NOT be accepted.

Awards

Trophies will be awarded to first, second, third and fourth place winners in all events. Ribbons will be awarded to fifth and sixth place winners. Large Trophies will be awarded for each final round winner if number of entries warrant and time permits for final rounds to be held. All awards will be presented off-ice at the photographer's stand following each event.

Volunteers

DSFC members volunteering receive discount hour credits toward membership dues. We can't put on this event without many helping hands. Help will be needed for Set Up, Tear Down, Ice Monitors, Registration, Runners, Music, Announcing, Practice Ice, Health Screening, Cleaning, Food donations, and more. Photography/videography

Professional award photos, action photos and videography will be available at the event provided by MKT Photography. Personal cameras will be permitted in the bleachers only and may not be plugged into arena outlets. Videotaping for personal profit is not allowed. Photographing and/or recording of anyone other than your own skater is strictly prohibited.

Skater recognition digital ad

Treat your favorite skater or coach to a special recognition by creating a custom slide including their photo to be shown on the big screens in the facility throughout the event. Cost for each Digital Ad is $25.

Ad Request is a two step process including payment in Square, and completion of slide information on google form including upload of photo. Slide submission deadline is 9/16/2026. All slides must be both purchased and all uploaded data provided by no later than 9/16/2026 to be shown during the event.

Official 2026 Texas Trophy merchandise, garments and souvenirs will be available for purchase at the competition.

There are two airports nearby - Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and Love Field Dallas. Both are approximately 24 miles away taking about 30 minutes travel time in normal traffic conditions
